Description
The RTNP monitors the activity of any device (e.g. personal computer, router, etc.) as well as the activity level of any data port communicating via any protocol including http, https and ftp. It also can control those devices for backup activation, lock and unlock of sessions, etc. RTNP is locally capable of enabling/disabling alarm points based on pre-programmed time schedules.
The distributed intelligent of the RTNP’s are based on microprocessor technology, and provides completely autonomous operation as a result of their inherent intelligence and stored operating data.
The RTNP’s firmware is programmed in a high-level language for ease of maintenance and enhancement. All RTNP operational code is stored in non-volatile Flash memory while monitoring data and system parameters are stored in battery backed-up RAM. Each RTNP contains an on-board real-time, battery backed-up clock for communication control, event initiation, and date/time stamping of transactions.
They are individually addressable. Single and block data transfers with error-checking protocols are used to ensure data integrity during all communication sessions.
Up to sixteen computers can be monitored by an RTNP.
If needed, the RTNP is capable of operating in a completely stand-alone mode such that all monitoring decisions are made at the RTNP, based on databases tables stored locally at the RTNP.
The RTNP will automatically switch battery backup in the event of a power failure. Each RTNP contains battery backup RAM to retain memory even when all AC power and/or backup battery power has been removed.
Optional four-hour battery backup is available for complete operation of the unit during AC power failure.
A watchdog timer is resident in the RTNP to prevent noise-induced latch-up or other temporary hardware failures.
